Join instructor Ava Larkin and take a deep dive into the art of Letterpress Printing.
In this 6-hour class participants will be introduces to and gain first-hand knowledge of:
- Letterpress terminology
- Font - sizes & styles
- Identifying Printing Presses
- Layout
- Locking up type
- Operating Platen and Proof Presses
- Hand Inking techniques
- And More!
Participants will have the opportunity to use both the platen and proof presses, experiment with various colors of ink and hand-inking techniques, play with layering, print with lead and wood type, and work with paper of various sizes, weights and composition. There will be a 30 minute optional break. Food and drink are allowed, but are not permitted in active work areas and must remain in the front lounge or in your locker.
